That sounds like a pretty darn good price to me. Is Studio 17 some new lineup of Dell notebooks?

My FedEx discount is $474!

Don't know how long these models have been out. They are between the Inspirons and the XPSs.

i've never delt with those lappies, but if they are like any of there newer stuff, they are good little books.. as long as you take care of them ( as per any laptop )

No wonder Sheridan still uses the IBM Lenovo Thinkpad R61 notebooks. Some students tend to drop them about 10 times per semester and they still work fine. Those things are hard as rock.

Heck, I got hit by a car with the laptop in my bag and it's still working :)

yea, and working with them with the laptop's as well as the servers was easy..

we ordered 20 replacement feet ( we only needed about 10 ) for the laptop's ( end of term cleanings ) And they shipped us a Box ( 2500 ) instead, free of charge.

and yea, they take/took alot of beatings without to much of a hiccup, it just sucked that the spec's of them where on the rather low side, and bringing your own lappy wasn't an option... they added that right before i left.

Got any good stories about your creative uses for 2500 laptop rubber replacement feet?

Tube + Compressed air = School Sniper

a few of us would hide and wait for one or the other workers to go classroom to classroom and fill the paper, then shoot the Rubber feet at them...

This has 32 bit Vista. I should just drop to 3 GB RAM, right. There's still the issue w/ 32 bit OSs not fully utilizing 4 GB RAM, right?

No reason not to get 64-bit, unless it's not an option on that model. Might as well make full use of your 4GB.
