I created a little program in mysql/php. All it does is keep track of how much I've spend/made, monthly sum totals etc. It actually made me spend less, cause you find out a lot of money is spent on shit.

Cuz you're paranoid.

There's a greater chance some schmuk will watch you enter your PIN at the atm, then mug you than havig someone steal your financial info.

I have this debate with my old man all the time. Fact is, setup properly, it's more secure than a bank book lying around or just sitting in your desk drawer. :dork:

I don't use ATMs much and when I do this town is small enough that there's relatively little chance that there will be someone there when I do. I also don't leave my info just laying around anywhere. It's mostly in my head. I'm not paranoid, I just don't have the need to do online banking and such. I don't mind making the effort to do it normally. I also don't have a cell phone, PDA, or any of that other crap that I'll probably never use.

Online banking is the best fucking thing since sliced bread.

It's fine for those who want to use it. I'm not scared of it, just don't feel the need for it.

aye, it does make life a lot easier.

for personal stuff, i've got a money management app on my zodiac and another one to encrypt it.

as long as you're a bit sensible about it, there's no harm in keeping financial info on your pc - more important to worry about how little security everyone who has your personal/financial info uses.
