for me it has to be an old game called 7th Guest
i can still hear the in-game music in my head and the puzzles atmosphere were great.

and Quake1
full volume scary shit , hella fun single player and the father of all online games

co-incendently 7th-Guest was made by an ex member of id Graemme Devine who made my day emailing me once.

and the id software geniuses of the day "they never call to talk or have sleepovers"

Ocarina and Alex Kidd in Miracle World

I am not sure about the second one, but I can't think of another game atm. I mainly put it for nostalgia purposes, being a game you have to play through all at once to beat, and for being on the superior sega master system. Fuck Mario and Nintendo...

Ultima 6 or Ultima 7 are both close to my all time fav. 7th guest was great at the time too. the sequel, 11th hour, wasn't as good, but still a decent game with some brutally hard puzzles.

First Baldur's Gate was great.

Original Zelda, arcade punch out, super mario brothers...god there are too many to list.

Quake 3 - to this day i still play it occasionally and it's still as fun as the first time i ever played it.

CoD4 - it's the only game other than Q3 that keeps me wanting to come back for more.

1st: Q3 (TA and TA mods)
2nd: Q2 (LMCTF mod)

Best non-quake series game... dunno so many. Bard's Tale 1/2/3 for old school Apple. I loved Wipeout XL/2097 for PS1 and Burnout 3 for 360. Guild Wars was a favorite for over 2 years. Guitar Hero 2/3 provided months of fun.
2 best games is really damned near impossible to ping down.
