ADC-Student in Highschool?

Post by 4g3nt_Smith »

I've been taking a programming class as a sophmore in high school, and after spending half a semester on useless things like assembly on a virtual computer and Turtle(logo), we've finally made it to some light c and c++ with vi and a remote Unix shell. I've found this pretty fun, and after reading a thread on another forum about the ease of programming for OS X, I've decided to try some "wow" stuff for my M$-fanboy teacher and maybe make something useful in the process. I've signed up for the online ADC today in class, and planned to upgrade to the student one when I got home, only to find out its only for college/university students. The free would be acceptable to me if it was all I could get, but having that free Tiger copy and periodic DVD's of stuff would help hold my borderline-A.D.D mind. Is there any way Apple would allow me to get a student subscription (I can provide both the required docs to verify I'm a student) , or am I stuck with the free one until I hit uni/get one of my mates at the local university to sign up for me?

I dont know, but have you contacted Apple about it? They might be able to get you in, but may just be advertise it for College/University students.
