Start Windows in safe mode with networking support (bang on F8 as soon as your computer starts until it starts beeping at you to shut up). It will only load the essentials and you should be able to go out and get the patches you need.

I'd like to find people that program shit like that (redirecting webrowser) and beat them with a lead pipe.

Search for BHODemon and run it. Then run the standard AdAware and SpyBot.

Ah well...

Run the following in safe mode in the following order:
*Spybot Search and Destroy
*AdAware
*Hijack This (remove all BHOs that you don't recognize or that redirect your browser settings)
*Microsoft AntiSpy Beta (just keep this bitch running - not a drop of spyware since I installed it has touched my system)

You need to make sure you do this in safe mode though as any running bug may copy itself elsewhere and restart next time. You should be able to zap everything with the listed combo of software. No one product does it all, but put together it's a good team.
