ask your bank if you can make weekly payments instead of monthly, its only a little saving but over the length of the loan it builds up, and as mentioned, see if you can lock 50% of the loan on a fixed rate and the rest on a variable rate

no matter what %interest you'll still be building equity-- and thats a good thing, just like good debt! compared to bad debt ey!
and plus you dont have to stay for 30 years you can leave if oppertunities arrise you get bored or what have you!
