bsp error

Post by wVmikeVw »

Okay, so I'm new to the whole level editing stuff and even quake itself. I'm using q3radiant, and when I try to compile a map I've made I get this error:

SetQdirFromPath: no 'quake' in C:/Q3Ademo/baseq3/maps/test.map
Q3Map v1.0e (c) 1999 Id Software Inc.

(The name of the map is test)

Is it beacuse I'm using a demo version of quake 3? Or do I have something in the wrong folder?...

Read the error message and rename your q3 (demo) directory.

You can't use custom maps with the demo, you'll need the full game.

Also an odd quirk of the compiler is that the folder name has to have 'quake' somewhere in it.

Using ioq3.exe (icculus quake) or cnq3.exe you can run custom levels (as long as they use no retail Quake 3 assets) with the demo.
