Soapboy (and others) test your knowledge of natives here
Take this native IQ test here:
http://www.understandingprejudice.org/nativeiq/
I only got 4 out of 10 correct, but it was quite educational.

I hate it when Native Americans are painted as a peaceful people. They were fighting amongst themselves long before the Puritans arrived. Imagine that some alien race attacked Earth during World War II, and you'd get a pretty good picture of what I'm talking about. They were out-teched, outnumbered, and didn't have their shit together. I don't bear any guilt for what my ancestors did to my other ancestors, nor do I have any pity for the remaining Native Americans (outside of the fact that we've fucked them up more than we helped them with the reservation bullshit) I do feel remorse that such a fascinating and rich culture was all but lost in the process, but such is the nature of our world, and of man, as sad as that is.
There should be a white test.
1. What race is always called a racist race?
2. What race pays for 100 years of slavery when the race they enslaved took them as slaves in the Nubian empire of Egypt for much longer?
3. Does the white race benefit from equal opportunity or affirmative action?
4. Why can they have a black Santa Claus, but a white Malcom X would be racist?
5. White Entertainment Television: Would it be deemed racist?
6. What genre of entertainment has yielded the most crime, and degredation of society?
7. Black comedians: Do whites really talk like that?
Bonus Question: Don't black kids appear as a unisex until well after puberty; with some always looking like boys forever and ever?

Hey rep, i've tried to answer your questions. Perhaps i can be of some assistance in your quest for intercultural tolerance - yes, to me it's quite obvious you hide your fascination of other cultures under a thin layer of racism.
Please read the answers carefully and give me some feedback, alright? I have the feeling you're quite unsure about many things, and have many great misconceptions about others, perhaps we can work together on this. Alright.
1. Can you name me a race that hasn't been accused of racism at one time or another?
2. What? I'm almost sure there's something gramatically wrong with this question. Also, where do you get the idea the first slaves came from Nubia? That's just silly - Western Africa was much closer to the US. And i'm also going to point out that the Nubians ruled over Egypt only once, for one dynasty, around 500 BC.
3. Please look up the term 'equal oppertunity' and ask yourself if that is the sort of situation where one side is supposed to benefit over the other.
4. Ran out of ideas for questions? I expected better rep, come on. Let's see this as a learning experience.
5. Logic sais no. Try using logic on occasion. Think of Star Trek rep, think of Vulcans.
6. The Romans were on the right path here.
7. Do white people talk like black comedians? What?
Bonus question: What the flying fuck?

White people are subject to very different standards than minorities in the US. For example, what would happen if I staged a White European pride parade? No white power BS, just a celebration of my cultural heritage. I'd instantly be branded a racist. White Entertainment Television? HA!Ryoki wrote:Lol, which ones?
All i see is uninformed bullshit there.
The fact that the subject of reparations for slavery is even being debated says a good bit about the state of affairs in general.
It's perfectly acceptable for black comedians to make fun of the way white people speak and dance, but what happens if a white comedian makes fun of stereotypical black behaviors?
I can't speak to the historical reference that rep made, but I do know that there are blacks in the US that refuse to believe that the slave trade was a result of conquering African tribesmen selling members of defeated tribes to whites.
Don't even get me started on the whole "African-American" bullshit.

How about St. Patricks day? Seems like a (purely white) celebration of cultural heritage to me... And noone cries 'racist!' there. White entertainment television impossible? About 70% of American sitcoms i know don't feature any black people at all - how is that different from a channel that only features people that are mostly black?Nightshade wrote: White people are subject to very different standards than minorities in the US. Black comedians get away with more racial jokes than whites? I really don't know about that. I've always considered it a comedians job to play into sensative issues - humor is a good integrator, so to speak. Fuck unfounded public outrage, if white comedians feel restricted about this, they're being bad comedians.
And to blame the slave trade on warring tribes is nonsensical - the fact is that the europeans (and especially the dutchees haha) encouraged it greatly. It was a good way to avoid labour intensive slave-catching stuff, they effectively turned a small slave catching business into an international wholesale slave distribution network.
I absolutely agree on talks about reperations being complete bullshit though.

St. Patrick's Day is not seen as being related to race. I'd guarantee you that most people would have a VERY different reaction if St. Patrick's day was cast as being a celebration of White European Heritage. It's simply not seen that way in the US.
As far as TV goes, yes, there are a lot of shows with few or no black actors. This is not the same thing as starting a channel that specifically highlights whites. The other thing you have to recall is that blacks are only about 22% of the US population, so real equality means 22% representation on TV.
I agree that good comedians should stir things up with their comedy, but NO white comedian is going to start doing routines involving blacks and welfare, laziness, thievery, drugs, etc. He'd be villified and destroyed. But, black comedians can go on and on about how uptight whitey is, how we can't dance, blah blah blah, and no one says a fucking word.

I agree with him too.
edit: A lot of people outside the US see Americans talking this way and think it's racist ranting. Don't get me wrong, I realize that black people are treated unfairly in tons of places still today. But basically allowing them priveleges to make up for different priveleges that others have is just not right, and it perpetuates racism instead of alleviating it.

What is the value of the questions rep is asking?
What is rep saying that you are agreeing with?
From how I read it, rep is claiming blacks are being given an unfair advantage in American society whereas the complete opposite is true.
For example, he claims white people had to pay for their slavery and have done so for 100 years. Well the reality is that for the hundred years after slavery was abolished, African Americans didn't even have a vote. Blacks Americans are severly disadvantaged are it's plain as day to this outsider. It's plain as day, every time I visit your country and I've been their at least 20 times and to many different areas of the country.
Every one of the questions that rep asks is a joke.
