Downloading Windows Update

Well before my sister goes back to college I decided to get everything up to date; antivirus, spybot, ad-aware, and Windows. Well when I went to the Windows Update website it kept telling me that the computer was missing necessary files and I could reinstall and register them, I did that multiple times and it did not work. So I'm asking is there any place to download the updates, preferably as a single download, I looked at packs used to integrate into nlite OS for a streamlined install of Windows, but they seemed only to be meant for streamlining.

Wait a few days and they will have the august full release with the august ms updates

I got the error message, too. When I shutoff my computer for the night the logoff emblem showed the updates would finish after rebooting.
