Mystery of q3dm6

Do you think vertex lighting of q3dm6 is true?
I've been suspicious on this.
Look at the pics below.
r_vertexlight 0
r_vertexlight 1
Apparently most of the areas are dark with lightmap.
But its vertexlight looks way too bright.

I thought it was pretty bright too, but I don't really know how it works.

There was a bug in the original version of q3map.exe, causing it to lit vertexes far more than it should. q3map2 has a switch (-cpma I belive) to reconstruct this "bug" and make the vertex light as bright as it is in the original id maps.
All IIRC ._.
