Graphic card question

I'v been playing bf2 for a while tonight and next thing I know my screen goes all pink...and stays that way, even when I shut it off and drop to the desktop it's still pink :icon33: She was running around 160F, not really sure what it ran at before. Heat problem?

Just played some BF2 also.
Get really use to flying the chopper now.
Of course I use a gamepad for flying.

lmao, ya 160. I really haven't tried to reboot cause everytime it happens I usually just quit playing or I just shut er down for the night

I damn good at flying now. I’ve found a good strategy with my squad mates when flying the chopper. Fly as high as possible over
the enemies base and have them spawn on you in the chopper; once they spawn, they jump out and take the base. 95% of the time jets don't go that high and the uav is to low for their commander to see.

But then you'll have to worry about homing AA missiles

BTW, that 160F temp...it seems kind of impossible in my mind. At that temperature everything in your computer should just melt away into metallic slime. Is that the temperature of the video card and if so, how are you finding it? I smell an overheat issue, no pun intended, but it could also be causing a heat sensor problem. Is the fan on the video card working properly and do you have proper ventilation in your computer? Also, when did this start happening and is your house unbearably hot during summer? These could all be factors but try running with the computer case off and see if you smell any funny stuff such as hot plastic, metal, etc. That distinguished "comp is burning" smell :icon32:

I mostly run my computer at work and it's always 65F inside. I used the cat control center and it says right now 71c. I have 2 80 fans on the side window near the pci slots ( their empty ) 1 120 pusing air in on the top of my case and 1 80 on the back sucking out. I also use a prog that came with the mobo, and it says that the internal temp is 40c

Hmm, k. Can you have the monitor on and play Battlefield 2? Also I'm sure Cat has some sort of alert beep when a certain temperature is reached. I'd say set it to 100F and get in the game, see if it starts beeping. At that point, turn off the game and see how it affects the temperatures of the rest of the components in there. I'm just throwing out suggestions here, sorry I can't be more precise, I'm on vacation

Take the side of your case off and try and play it like that,

The card should not be that Hot, if it continues to do that point a house fan at the side of the case and see if it continues.

my 9800 pro never go's above 110F ( ~40C ) and that is ~4 hours of BF2.

and i am actually suprised that you dont get any Crashes to the desktop that is so common with Heat and bf2.

I think you're confusing the difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

100F is only 37.7C, that’s just a really hot day. If a computer's CPU is running at that then it probably has very good air cooling. As I understand it, today's video cards run much, much hotter.

70C is hot for a computer, and that’s 158F.

My motherboard warning sensor's lowest auto shutdown temperature is 85C, that's 185F...

I just put a order into newegg for a new

ZALMAN VF700-CU VF700

and a new case Thermaltake Armor

My old case is a mid tower and with 4 hard drives now and a 500w psu it's getting hotter and hotter in their.

160F is pretty hot for a CPU, but not really for a graphics card. You have intel, right? They do get pretty hot under load.

You're right, my mistake

70C would be reasonable for an alert level.
