I read somewhere that they would try to get a test out before qcon. that would be like next month if they arent lying. either that or I made the whole thing up.

[odium mode]No remember, there's no need for a test! The brilliant activision qa team will find every bug, every game balance tweak, every weapon tweak, every map tweak! No need for test, id said so![/odium mode]
Frankly if they put out an MP test, 3 levels or whatever, and are willing to read around and siphon some input from the core of players who appreciate and focus on the underlying game dynamics (as opposed to the inevitable noob influx OMG CAN WE PLEASE HAVE MULTICOLOR GIBS THAT FLY WEST ONLY PLZ K) then this might be the next big thing for us Q3 players.

Erm, excuse me, but I've pretty much wished for a test since there was even a sniffle of a game mentioned.
With how much goodness the RtCW test did for the final game, and how bad Quake 4 was for there not being a public test before hand, its pretty darn obvious a test is needed to me.

Well I was more agreeing with you, in a sense that id is wrong about *not needing a test*
