i've got several books on Germany's secret weapons and as a footnote for nearly every design it's got something along the lines of "with more funding or better cooperation from Hitler the item would have been put into service" or "had the war continued for another year the device may have tipped the balance of power"

I heard he hated anyone smarter than him and many of his best scientists fled the country.phantasmagoria wrote:i've got several books on Germany's secret weapons and as a footnote for nearly every design it's got something along the lines of "with more funding or better cooperation from Hitler the item would have been put into service" or "had the war continued for another year the device may have tipped the balance of power"

the main problem facing the German scientists is that instead of working as a whole they were all working in competition with each other to get funding/ respect from command etc, this meant that there were several different divisions all working on (for example) rockets..all making the same mistakes and breakthroughs and wasting a lot of time all discovering the same design flaws. If they had coordinated their efforts Germany probably would have won.
