One more reason to buy a mac

Post by Canis »

Folks have been wanting to boot WinXP off the thing for a while, and recently there have been folks who've hacked their way into making it work, but Apple has fully adopted these ventures and has released Boot Camp, which enables users to partition their drive and install windows XP on intel-based mac hardware.

Check it: http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/

Folks have been claiming they'll be willing to buy macs if they can run XP on them as well, and Apple has just enabled that. I know folks who love OS X but are tied into windows so they keep getting PC hardware. I bet apple kicks up a lot of sales with this. They're not supporting windows, but are rather enabling the folks who do wish to run windows to do it.

Yes I saw that earlier today. Almost makes me regret getting an Acer laptop last week, I should have waited and gotten a MacBook instead, Apple laptops are fucking awesome.

Ooh, so does this mean if I had 2 hard drives in a Mac, I could boot either OS I wanted?

When I can buy all the components I want and put it together myself, I might consider it.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

So, people are willing to pay more, for a system which is basically not upgradable? Where's my credit card.
