I just found out last night that my local grocery started carrying Franziskaner Hefeweissen. It's by far my favorite beer.

I'm not a beer fan, but any Leinie's is good. Creamy Dark and Honeyweiss are nice. :icon14:

Creamy Dark... that's not a proper name for a beer. My first thought was a kind of new soda with rich creamy chocolate taste or something.

I actually got a sixer of this the other night. I like lienenkugel's, but this one was an exception. It tasted like toasted coors light. I knew it was a lager, but with Dark & Creamy in the name, I was expecting something closer to a porter.

I've noticed Hefeweisen has started popping up everywhere. I was wondering if it was just local or if the company started upping distribution nationally. Either way, it's good news.

Fat Tire Amber Ale from New Belgium Breweries is what I've been drinking copious amounts of recently. You guys should check them out if you can.

Yea, I've noticed a lot of breweries have started making hefeweissens recently. I was turned onto it about 5 years ago, with Red Hook's hefeweissen, and almost every hefe I've had since then I've liked. There have been a few exceptions, but overall I think I just like the way wheat beers like that are brewed.

I found the Franziskaner hefe at the Flying Saucer a couple years ago and loved it, but was never able to find it anywhere else. When I saw it in the grocery the other night I was tempted to buy all the twelve packs they had in case it was some kind of special seasonal thing or something.
