Anyone else playing Black?

Rented it for the Xbox, good thing I hadn't gotten rid of the original yet because the 360 wouldn't play it yet.

Decent game, the graphics are pretty nice for the hardware.

The enemy AI sucks though. They take cover, but rarely react to seeing one of their buddies lying dead on a trail...just keep on patrolling.

I give it a 7/10 - rent, don't buy.

I was more impressed with these graphics than with Perfect Dark Zero for teh 360. Was very impressed with teh big outdoor areas and how little slowdown there was (actually I never noticed any). But, I AM A GODDAMNED BLACKS OPS AGENT...WHY THE FUCK CAN I NOT JUMP???

I'll never understand why some devs completely leave out the option to jump, especially in a 'realistic' shooter. Real touch of realism to be stopped by a 1 foot incline.

I haven't really gotten into it yet; just trying it out and messing around in the 1st level. My biggest problem is getting used to the controls, which are practically the same as the WASD/Mouse setup on the PC, but I'm still having a hard time adjusting to it :icon8:

Graphically, it's good but probably not as good as I was expecting. It's also a bit too dark if you don't up the brightness levels. I guess it probably has something to do with the fact that I'm playing it on my computer monitor

I also tried out the BFG (the M249 SAW). I guess it's OK, nothing really special about it, and there doesn't seem to be any ammo for it for you to pick up (at least in the 1st level).

Oddly... So was I. I had more of a smile for this, than i did for PD:Z. PD:Z just seems like an average game with plastic wrap mode on.

Black is a fun game, tough as fuck. The biggest gripes are that there is no 360 support and no multiplayer

Black 2 is being made for next gen so hopefully it will fix these issues.

I got it, played it once, then threw it into my games pile.

Its not that its a bad game (from what i saw of the first level anyway), but its just damn near impossible to control.

First person shooters without a mouse+keyboard are like a cock without balls.

TBH. FPS game are best on M+KB clearly, but the xbox/ 360 pad/s are jsut the best to play them with if you dont have a M+KB.

I dunno why, everything is just THERE, its set out perfectly. PS2 hating aside, and the fact that dead zone is a thing Sony dont understand, the PS2 pad just will NOT cut it for me in First person games. Its impossible to aim with, its hard to get to buttons, you look like a retard while running/shooting/selecting something etc etc... The xbox pad is just perfect for your hands. At least mine anyways...
