...on the boat of one of the coaches of the University of Iowa women's rowing team in exchange for copies of what I took.

Great weather.. 45 or so. There was still ice in the river, but it's probably all gone today. I don't think they were dirty looks. I think think it was a combination of exaustion and looking at the coach (who was right next to me)... Maybe a little hint of curiosity. The coach yelled at me and asked me if I wanted to come along about half way through their route up the river, so they had no idea who I was or that I was going to be there. It was probably a good test of concentration... I wonder if I distracted them just enough to make them lose concentration. I'm not sure what the exact name for it is, but it wasn't the varisty team.. i guess you'd call it the freshman team or sommat.

I hope adobe fixes the jpeg output quality on lightroom because it's pretty wacked out at times when you have highlights against a dark surface

I spose every photographer needs his gimmick, and i'm guessing Daves is shooting his pics without any pants. You can't fake reactions like those in the first few pics :olo:

I think a coach yelling at you with a bullhorn works better

well, if he wants to, he will... granted, this is the first time I've ever shot sports... from a moving vehicle no less, directly into the sun most of the time with a lens that does some wild shit when you let it flare up. I also should have backed off the ISO a little, but I forgot until about 3/4 through. I don't think any amount of advice is going to compete with actually doing it and finding out what works and what doesn't, though, since photography is just as much personal technique as it is scientifically knowing what settings to use.

My 70-200 F/4L is in the shop because the auto focus failed and the front lens element cracked.. i should get it back next week sometime. I used the 70-300 DO lens, which presented another problem because I often forgot to let the IS catch up before I pulled the trigger.. i should have turned it off or waited a sec

Well, look at it this way. I share my photos with you. I tell retards where to post, you follow up by being a retard. I post in the body of my original post exactly what the photos are of. Now imagine you're a mother/father/whatever of one of the people on the team and you google it.. low and behold, this site comes up. Do you want to read your lame ass comments? I sure fucking don't and I didn't take these photos so you can be disrespectful.

Unless you're a refugee from the old, pre-meltdown ubb board, as far as I'm concerned, your 3 months of posting on this board don't amount to squat.

And he deletes his post.. go figure!

It is really as complicated everyone makes it sound to take a nice picture..ISO..etc. Or is it if you own an expensive camera it does most of the work for you?
