Quick question about the iPod

My friend keeps telling me that you couldn't do sports with an iPod because it has a HD and would therefore skip.

Is that even remotely true?

Yes, a sufficiently violent and unrelenting motion will eventually lead to skipping in HD players.

I think you'd have to beat the shit out of it to get it to skip. It plays from a rather larger cache.
I just got an armband for mine and I'm going running with it this evening, I'll let you know how it goes.

What sport are you wanting to use it for? Seems like plenty of people use them for jogging with no problem.

Get the new Walkman, it's memory is solid state.

My gf has always taken hers running with her, and about 2-3 months ago it started to skip badly, and now it locks up sometimes when it's playing.

Of course, she does more running than most ppl - training for a marathon at one point.

But if you do a lot of running I'd recommend getting a 512 Shuffle for 60 bucks and just keep your running tunes on that, just to prevent long term damage.

I still have mine, and I doubt that anyone will want to buy it now that the 1Gb Nano is out, so that's most likely what I'll do with it. I got the armband so I could wear my new iPod while lifting.

Hey, I just noticed how easy it is to type 'iPos' instead of 'iPod'. Coincidence?
