Comcast Cable?
Comcast Cable?
Does anyone here have Comcast Cable for their Internet connection? If so how is their servce?
I'm thinking of switching over to Cable from my Wireless Connection. A new company took over my wireless service and they suck bad. I'm paying for 1.5mb connection and all I can get out of it is 640kbps and with one phone call they tell me it's on my end and that I should take appropriate action. But all was fine until they took over.

I heard they suck.... But I have Adelphia Cable and heard they suck too. Cable is ok as long as there aren't too many people on it in your area and it does go down every once in awhile. My service is 1meg up/6 meg down and I get close to all of it. Comcast doesn't even offer those speeds in this area.
There's no way to tell for sure without trying it, or talking to someone else in your neighborhood who has it, because it can differ greatly from one area to the next.
I have comcast now; I have 4 megs down and 768 up, and I get every bit of it all the time.
But I also had it in a different house, different neighborhood, a couple years ago and it wasn't that good.
Your best bet would be to find somebody who lives near you who has it, and see what they have to say about it.

Anybody heard about this?
I live in a house with 50+ apartments, I guess you call them condos.
I have a 2048/512 DSL service, yet I'm getting no more than 1500. Apparently the reason for this is that the lines in my house disturb each other.
Yet all the telecom-companies prance about advertising their 4000+ services for my area, the cocks.

Thats what I have over here in West Valley Denz. Its not bad. Great download speeds. 6mb I think now, but the upload still sux ass. 256k up :\ Also every once in a while, it will run slowly. Dont know if thats cause a ton of people are on it or what. But most of the time its good. There was however for a month, it ran shit, pinged horribly in servers, and they kept saying it was on my end. But it wasnt. Other than that, its good.

I wasn't too happy with the upload speeds either, that's really what's holding me back in trying to decide going with comcast.
Thx bud.

Re: Comcast Cable?
Its hit or miss, depending on the size of the area. They tend to favor the better paying areas with more/better technicians and faster response times to outages. In the bigger areas they'll use more Comcast techs rather than fuckup contractors, at least, that's what I remember when I worked there.

it's like a rollercoaster
i've got comcast here. they're pretty good. once in a blue moon things get a little iffy but it's nothing to lose sleep over. one thing is for sure it's a hell of a lot better than at&t, which it was before comcast took things over. their customer service has actually been very helpful and suportive whenever we have issues.
but like everyone else had said, depends on your area.
