You guys should really read the memory related thread at mozillazine: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=354828
One of the best tweaks to apply is when you minimize ff to the taskbar, it frees up memory. It still applies even after updating to 1.5.0.1
So once in a while or after a long browsing session, say you leave the computer, minimize it and come back and you get a fresh memory footprint.

If you've got a bunch of pages or pictures open and you minimize it, does it have to reload all of that stuff when you restore the window?dzjepp wrote:You guys should really read the memory related thread at mozillazine: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=354828

I think there may still be a leak. I opened a half-dozen tabs, then visited about 2 dozen different sites in the last half hour. Task Manager shows it using 60k, and in the last 10 minutes, it's grown to 63.1k without me navigating away from this page. Minimizing it didn't seem to do anything. It's still climbing, but not at the same rate as a few minutes ago.

Yea it seems a Little better but it still doesnt release anything until you close it completely. Just seems to build up until the pc starts swap-choking - the more tabs I use the quicker it happens. The minimise thing doesnt actually release anything, check the memory usage history in the task manager.

Yea, I realized that after I posted. One site I frequent bumps up the usage by 10k alone. It's been about an hour or so since I posted, and without navigating away from Q3W, it's gone from 63k to 65k.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:@trans
i'd imagine some of that can be attributed to what's ON those webpages (flash ads, etc), ya think?
