Greasemonkey just erases the code as I get it, (the code for the futre banner or w/e) noscript just stops the image from ever displaying (I don't know how) but greasemonkey can do MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more then this (like automatically generate stats) Though greasemonkey has a rather steep learning curve...try both out?

If Greasemonkey doesn't have those problems I'll probably try that out.seremtan wrote:noscript just blocks all javascript, and can be disabled for specific sites/domains. the only drawback is sometimes when video media are embedded in the page it can cause FF to have a fit if javascript is disabled for that page
I've already had my fill of embedded media issues with FF.
? just manually adblock ajax.gamespy.com/* or whatever.R00k wrote:I'm already running adblock, but that doesn't keep it from stalling on those gamespy sites when the page is loading.Foo wrote:And for firefox there's the 'adblock' extension.

If you notice a certain site is giving popups or is slow because of javascript all you have to do is view the source, locate the problem and then adblock it.
For example if you look at q3w, you will see this.
Simply add http://wrapper.gamespyid.com/* to adblock and it should prevent it from doing what ever it's doing.
For example if you look at q3w, you will see this.
Code: Select all
<script language="javascript">
<!--
document.write("<"+"script type='text/javascript' src='http://wrapper.gamespyid.com/a?pagetype=pnh_content&size=prestitial'>");
document.write("<"+"/script>");
//-->
</script>-
