400 GB drives $139.99 at buy.com
I just picked up a couple of the seagate 400GB ata drives for a decent price. Going to add them to my htpc. Also they have really cheap Linksys wireless access point $13 and usb wireless adapter $10 if you are looking to add some wireless to your home. (after rebates)

yes I do. This is going to be in addition to my 1.3 TB of current storage.
$300 for .8 TB seemed too good to pass up.
Actually this way I can record tons of TV shows and movies on my PC which I use like a TIVO. And yes, my pron collection has something for every taste at your fingertips

SATA is faster than PATA. PATA is what you're calling ATA. They use different cables and have different connectors. It is up to the motherboard whether your computer supports it or not.FragaGeddon wrote:What's the difference between an ata drive and a sata drive?
Does an ata drive just use the ide cable?

But that's just burst speed. No ATA drive on the market will ever saturate 133MB/sec of sustained transfers. The nicest improvement in SATA for me was the cable is about 1/8th the size of an ATA/IDE cable.
