Sorry, I don't usually advertise stuff, but I remember this thread came up a couple months ago and some of you seemed interested in this monitor.

This is the best price I've every seen, and it ships free. I paid nearly twice this amount when I bought mine. I still think my monitor is great.

I've been thinking about upgrading my Samsung 213T (21.3", 25ms response time) LCD with a widescreen Dell anyway. I guess this just reinforces my case.

It's a damn good monitor, especially at the price you can snag it for with the Dell coupons and whatnot. I haven't looked at the deal mrherpes posted, but $334 is a steal.
Q4 on Ultra detail looks fantastic on this monitor, now if I could only sustain that at more than 2 fps. :icon33:

To answer your question raw, I haven't found any gaming issues with it. The resampling to lower resolution has the effect of anti-aliasing, so image quality is good even when viewed at less than 1650x1080.

It is true that you don't get that butter smooth framerates in FPS games like you would on a CRT, but the image quality makes up for that for me. Maybe if you're a pro gamer this might be an issue, dunno.

I ordered one a few weeks ago when they were $390.00 I love the monitor, I can now play my Xbox with my X2vga+ on it so I finally got rid of my CRT.

It looks great for all windows applications, movies and games however it does have some scaling issues. You loose the smooth edges if your do not run at the proper resolution, not enough for me to complain, but if you spend more time gaming than you do in windows this isn't the monitor for you.

Don't take that the wrong way games do look good, but if you spent $400+ on a video card and your pushing the anti-aliasing to the max you will not see that unless you are running the monitors default resolution.
this monitor is 1/8" taller than Dell's 170Xxx series so putting it side by side with one of them gives you one long smooth desktop.


EDIT: I forgot to add the picture in picture with 4 inputs DVI, RGB, S-Video, and Composite, you can choose a small window in one of the 4 corners or split screen, it's pretty sweet

That is a KVM to the right, behind the monitor, it works fine, I have the PC Running DVI into the monitor and all other computers/Xbox runing in RGB.

Check the Refresh rate on your second PC, start at 60HZ

Hmm, I have both machines using the regular old analog video output. When I switch to the second PC, the monitor simply says "Cannot display this mode".

sounds like the resolution or the frequesncy is not set right on the second PC, try setting it to the monitors native resolution @ 60Hz

20.1 inch wide screen is equivalent to a 17 inch standard monitor with 2 inches in width added. Height wise it's almost exactly a 17 inch monitor just a little wider... the angle from right to left is just not at the same 45 degree angle, if you take a sheet of paper and measure it out it's the same height of a 17 inch standard monitor.. just an FYI,.

I hope you understand that is correct. It's 20 inch diagonal. The diagonal is about 45 degrees on a standard 4:3 monitor it's about 35-40 degree angle on the widescreens so yes, a 20 inch standard monitor is taller then a 20 inch widescreen, because the extra inch or two in length gives the added length from corner to corner of the monitor.

I'm sure you knew this though, since you have a tard smiley there. It's also on the sizes there too so..

And, not suggesting it's not a nice monitor but I'd take a 20 inch standard monitor over a widescreen monitor.
