nm i'm off already. Too bad shiznit that your ping was so high. You're from the US right?
I saw brisk connect as well but got booted because of somekind of MD5 checksum error. Been hacking the game?

Heh, I confess I still have the "non-retail" version of the game installed, as when I got my retail DVD I only inputed my cdkey, and didn't bother changing anything else. Cracked exe and all.
Bizzarely, i've had no problems playing on any other servers, including jolt and wireplay. But yeah, I need to get the original exe from someone I think

You should have it if you have the retail DVD. yes?
\Setup\Data\Quake4.exe
But if the no DVD crack is working on line, why bother with the retail one that does DVD checks?

Yep, i've replaced it now with the one from my DVD.
And yeah, i'd prefer to use the crack actually, but as seen, punkbuster seems to be clamping down

indeed, I fear for the structural integrity of my Q4 DVD over time.

You can try using a mini-image w/ alcohol.
Search for Mini-Image Ripper, it will convert your dvd into a 30-40mb image, and mount off of it.

I'm using a no DVD patch now, and my DVD is safe and unscratched in the drawer. Seems to work fine

Yeah, I've just tried it online myself, jumped around in one of id's servers for a while...
*puts DVD in case*
I'll get it out again when/if PB expresses displeasure with me.
