that is a fucking abomination. not because it's ugly or tacky or even aimed a the dorkier end of the christian spectrum, but because it violates every precept about form following function. call it my bauhaus-influenced upbringing, but i hate thatreefsurfer wrote:http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=965966
edit: no not bauhaus the band you dorks - bauhaus the design school

but why is it a "fucking abomination"? its fine, its artistic, it works. i can understand if you dont like it for your artistic beliefs or whatever, but i just dont get why so terrible.
surely just because you were schooled in a certain way doesn't mean that you cant appreciate something thats different right?

And that book happens to be a very large box shape with wires coming out of it. I understand what you are saying but I'm just not a form/function kind of guy.seremtan wrote:it's a pc disguised as a book, so the form doesn't follow the function. like one of those telephones that look like figurinesbitWISE wrote:And how exactly does it violate every precept about form following function?
well yeah, generally i find case modding pointless, but this is particularly tacky effortFoo wrote:So this isn't actually an opinion about this particular piece, it's about case modding in general.

i just find attempts to conceal the true functions of things (and call it art ffs) slightly disturbing, like it's indicative of a flight from reality
if it's artistic then what in your opinion is the 'artist' saying?Chupacabra wrote:its artistic
