Now I don't know much about dvds and what not but I was considering purchasing this film. Just a few questions:

(1) Do you think there is going to be a special edition coming out soon? If so, when?

(2) is it better to just wait til it gets out on blu-ray/hd-dvd. when is that suppose to happen?

Waiting for the new storage mediums? No. They should be widely available to consumers in (early maybe) 2006. But you wanna drop $500-1000 on a new player?

All the rage these days is about making special editions to sqeeze the extra 10$ out of your pocket. This movie will probably have one too. If that's what you like, then go for it.

I'm sure an SE will come out and i bet it will be just in time for the Holiday season just like Sin City.

FYI, this was supposed to be one of the first HD-DVD titles that was going to be playing in fabled HD players this year.

Blu-Ray will eventually win this one. mark my words.

they're not selling them. hd-dvd got pushed back until next year. so much for their "leg up" advantage they would have had over Blu-Ray.

No, the year one hardcover is a combo save 3 dollars deal if you get the batman begins dvd too... i'll probably remove it before i buy all that crap because it pushes back the shipping date by "1 to 4 weeks"

I'm definitely going to wait on blu-ray vs hd-dvd. Especially with that bollocks about having to have a "certified" monitor >:-E

well yea :D but i mean one has to wait a significant time before its released. its not like "oh im waiting for the special edition"-type deal

life is too short to be bothered with buying dvds
rent/DL it, and even if its the best movie you ever saw, never watch it again and move on with your life
and besides studies show that 95% of men who got sex change operations have bought atleast 15 dvds/videos in their life beforehand

the best movies only get better if you watch them a 2nd time, or even a 3rd or 4th time :o

THE 2-DISC SPECIAL EDITION IS OUT NOW YOU FREAKS :icon33:

Just got it cuz I'm gay like that. Very nice. They will not release another 2-disc version before Christmas...not unless an abject retard is now the VP for marketing.
