depends on the liftspeed ey
UT has some maps with turbolifts. hell even doom2 has turbolifts.
the best tihng about themis that you can use them to shake off chasers (or ambush them), and you wont get that hang-in-mid-air-thing at the top of your jump (no idea what its called in english

Well, you have to look at it this way.[FTF]Pyro wrote:all I can see is texture repetition
I hate it when I see that, it totally ruins the game
Increasing texture resolution is only half the battle. Thats fine in static lightmap based engines, suck as HL2, but in Per Pixel based engines you have a minimum of 3 of those textures per surface. So, if you wanted high res textures to stop the tiling (Or, higher res textures to stop the fuzzyness), then prepare to pay the price.
3x the memory cost is a large price to pay.
But then again, this shot IS take nfrom a great height, and you wont see it this bad when running around.
Doom 3 lifts were ok, really fast, and you could use the push of the lift for a higher jump (ala UT2k3/4)MKJ wrote:depends on the liftspeed ey

Thats fine. I also think that the PS2 is shite, but Donney will try and prove otherwise. Thats also my opinion[FTF]Pyro wrote:Odium its my opinion. Theres no right to it and no wrong to it. I see the texture repitition I dont like it.o'dium wrote:blah blah blah.
No amount of saying per pixel mip mapping whatevers is going to change it
ok
But it just so happens that what you said is true. From acertain point of view. (Obiwang?)
I could maybe see some lifts if they were just as fast as jump pads, but D3's lifts still didn't seem fast enough for me.MKJ wrote:depends on the liftspeed ey

Of course, I'm a CA player more than anything these days, and I like getting halfway around the map without touching the floor sometimes. I just like the speed. :icon32:
Revenge on the box owns the ps2 version.[FTF]Pyro wrote:o'dium wrote:

I would tend to agree but also disagree to some extent as well. For instance, regardless of whether the console is technically proficient compared to others you cant beat Racing games on the PS2.
Burnout on PS2 owned Xbox version.
Why?
Because its smooth, and you can see whats ahead of you instead of, well, nothing.
technically it does own. The graphics are cleaner.o'dium wrote:

Does it play better. No. Is the control pad as easy to use? No.
Does PS2 own Xbox on all racing games regardless of the graphical performance? Yes
Why? Because the feel of the game through analogue pads is far better than on a shitty analogue stick.
Pretty simple really. but then I prefer pads for racing games than sticks.
