Pinewood studios

Post by DRuM »

Probably of not much interest to anyone, but I did a gig last night at one of the worlds most famous movie houses and home of the bond movies, pinewood studios. It was fascinating being there. The front of the studios is just a tudor house, but after being greeted by security and you're let in, there is a hugely vast area of studios, props shops, machinery, car parks, all sorts of stuff. Various roads within the complex were aptly named, such as 'Goldfinger road'. In the pinewood studios clubhouse ( a big white building with huge pillars outside), are walls adorned with framed pictures from the various movies made there, including superman, all the bond movies, tomb raider, miussion impossible, aliens, carry on movies, etc and descriptions about them. Apparently a lot of the tomb raider scenes were made in the main bond studio. There was an office there called 'carry on films ltd' where obviously all the production for the classic carry on films were discussed.
We weren't allowed inside the studios ( probably because they don't want anything to leak about whatever movie they're working on) but we walked right up to the outside of the bond stage which is an impressive and MASSIVE hangar with a sign outside it saying ' Albert Broccoli's 007'. The gig I did was for cineworld, and the theme was, yes, you guessed it, james bond. Oh, right outside the studios and opposite was a new road they'd named 'Bond Close'. :icon26:

So many jealous people being sarcastic or not posting at all because my life is more glamorous and they can't stand that. :olo:
