hmm... watched some of the videos... and that is the most advanced fps engine i've ever seen, for two reasons.
1. you can't carry a bigillion guns
2. if you look down you see your feet
other than that it looks pretty standard.
i'm sure it will be fun.

Play the demo sir
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

The AI has some cool tricks, like they blind fire and what not. It still does some stupid shit sometimes, but it's better than most games.

The AI is both fantastic, and odd....

In some places its obviously scripted to do certain things, every time... Just in different ways...

For example, that first window in the warehouse you enter, that marine will always jump through it. Looks cool.

But the stupid thing is, if he doesn't jump through it and comes through the door instead, if he manages to make it around the other side, he will jump through the window from that way...

Something leads me to believe they are doing a valve on us, with the AI.

But when playing, its great. Quite tough on harder skills. Great game, i love it and cant wait for it to come out already. Another week or so. Amazing its not leaked...

Yes, but this warehouse looks nicer than the rest :p

I also thought the paralax mapped decals were a nice touch. Fair enough, they CAN look odd for a couple of angles. But damn, it really DOES look like you put a hole in the wall. Thats the best part about this game. Getting into a firefight in a clean room, and then standing back when your done and looking at the mess... You rip the place apart, everything moves...

And look at this!!
The countdown to one of the biggest PC game launches this Fall has officially begun, as Vivendi Universal Games (VU Games) today announced the October 18th global street date for F.E.A.R. TM (First Encounter Assault Recon) from Sierra Entertainment. Additionally, VU Games unveiled plans to release an all-new F.E.A.R. multi-player demo in late September. The multi-player demo will follow on the heels of the hugely successful single-player demo that has reached more than 1.5 million downloads since its release in August, making it one of the most popular game demo downloads in history.

"As evidenced by the popularity of the single-player demo and the early critical praise from game reviewers, F.E.A.R. has already become the must-have game to own this Fall," said Philip W. O'Neil, Chief Operating Officer and President, North America for VU Games. "Delivering a global street date of October 18, 2005 will ensure that the game simultaneously hits retail shelves around the world on the same day and will enable hundreds of thousands of gamers to experience the thrill of F.E.A.R. together."

Developed by Monolith Productions, F.E.A.R. is an intense first person close-quarters combat experience with rich atmosphere and an engaging, paranormal horror storyline. Already named 'Best Action Game of E3 2005' by the E3Critics, F.E.A.R has been called 'Vivendi's classic-in-the-making' and 'the PC's top shooter' by PC Gamer (September 2005). In August, the game earned the "Best PC Game" award at the 2005 Leipzig Games Convention in Germany.

Finally, VU Games announce that the European Edition will include exclusive content; The DVD will feature "FEAR behind the scenes documentary", "Developer's roundtable commentary video", "FEAR live action pre-quel movie" and "Machinima Movies series"
YES, we europeans get the Directors edition aswell!!
woohoo!

Hehe, I dloaded that sp demo, it was great, the sp will be great no doubt, but I don't care about the mp. It's gonna be another 'slightly better than average' shooter in corridors. And with the amount of games these days dying to get attention, this one is prolly gonna have a small mp following that's gonna die off rather quickly. q4 mp for me thanks. :p
