ps2 screen flickering

Post by phantasmagoria »

I've borrowed a ps2 from a friend so I can finally play FFX to prevaricate doing any sort of work, but the TV flickers ever so slightly from light to dark, which after about 30 mins causes me an extreme headache.

I've played with the little switch on the scart lead, from RGB to AV and back again to no avail, I've also tried playing with a few settings on my TV. (This is all UK PAL (i presume) equipment).

The ps2 doesn't flicker on his TV, and neither does my TV flicker when i play videos from a VCR (via scart), movies from my computer (via s-video) or normal TV (from the aerial in socket), so why is the ps2 flickering like a motherfuck?

:(

I know when you play DVDs on the ps2, if it is hooked through a VCR or anything you will get a similar effect. Try hooking straight to the TV.

the VCR annoyinly only has one scart socket, so to answer inholen as well; It's connected straight to the TV.

make sure the shitty little cable thing in the back of the ps2 is shoved in all the way and isn't wiggling. i find that little shitter always seems to have a habbit of comming lose whenever i have to mess around with cables near it.
