Just started playing it and I'm really liking it.
Better than Legend so far.
Also can't believe how well it runs on my dilapidated system.

Just watched the video review on Gametrailers; looks like I'm gonna have to pick this one up to relive the good ol' times

I can't believe it's been more than 10 years since TR1 came out…
TR1 is one of the best games I've ever played (it'd be in my top 3). No game gives you that sense of isolation and miles-from-civilization feel better than TR1. The atmosphere and settings were just superb. I was awestruck by the convincing 3D world and the vastness/excellence of the levels, and it had the right balance between action, exploration, and (good) puzzle-solving. I remember it took me about 2 - 3 months to finish it, because I wanted to find every secret/health pack and to go through every level without using a single health pack.
TR1 was the game that got me into gaming. For that, it will always have a special place in my heart

If the game had sucked, I probably wouldn't have gotten that interested in gaming.

Couldn't agree more. I hope they keep the original soundtrack without changing it. TR1's soundtrack is one of the best game soundtracks ever IMO. I especially love the main theme (the soundtrack on the original TR1 disc is Redbook audio, and I have it ripped to high-quality MP3

).

My thoughts exactly.
I'm still in Peru, but it seems to me that so far the gameplay is a lot more linear than the original... that is, less running around and exploring. Or maybe it's just that the last 10 years have clouded my memory. Dunno.
Graphics look decent though not as impressive as Legend. I think they turned things down a notch. On the plus side it runs fine on a 6800 Ultra at 1920x1200 with 4x AA.

Well you can't compare to Legend graphics with next-gen content enabled, but they did some serious tweaks and improvements. The graphics look superb, running 4x AA with 1280x1024. Also, you might be feeling a bit linear in the first couple levels of Peru, but it'll change. After that it's all about gigantic rooms and puzzles where you need to pick your own path. I'm currently on Temple of Khamoon and stopped playing for the day. Best Tomb Raider game ever made :icon14:

Not only is the soundtrack completely nostalgic in most places, they've also improved it greatly. It's one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a game. I'm also a big fan of Hans Zimmer's Battlefield 2142 tracks
