Trust me, I will need the f/2.8 a lot. The 5D is for studio work and stuff, not really for sports, so I guess you won't be using a telephoto on it, eh?

When you're going from an XT to a 5D, the 5D's speed disadvantage relative to the 20D doesn't really matter because it's still faster than the XT. I really don't think the 5D is for any one thing or another. The extra resolution allows you to crop the image a little more, so it compensates a bit for the fact that your 480mm lens has become a 300 again. It's full frame, so my 50mm lens will work like a 50, and it has superior autofocus ability compared to the XT and 20D

I realize the 30D is coming out, but I'm not waiting until mid-May when it ships
