BTW our non-poor 15 year mortgage rate is 2.6% if I remember correctly...

I'm not arguing that the situation isn't what it is in the US, but this whole credit rating induced loan-whenever-you-can attitude of people in the states is really not healthy in the long run.

here where i am you need the wicked good rating to get the really good rates
Yeah, credit rating doesn't exist here. There's only a registry for people who are having debt and payment problems.
So in short, you don't need to have loaned money before to get a good mortgage deal. IMO it's kind of backwards that people who have never been in anyone's debt simply because they know how to handle their own money and have never loaned have a bad credit rating.
that sounds like a pretty neat system, and it sounds pretty chill there.

so many many things are sooo vastly diff here, i think attitudes tho ( at all levels) are the biggest difference. so alot less chill

I bought my first house when I was 25 with a 822 credit score. Needless to say, the rate was way low. My rating isn't as high now (maybe around 780). But not because I've had any trouble, but because I have a low credit card utilization percentage...

You've got that a bit wrong. He invented something superior to the current mortgage system in every way, and won a bunch of major industry awards, and for a brief moment, was a forerunner for a Nobel Prize, but on the night of his inauguration as World's Smartest Dude, there was a fire at his house, and he had a choice to save the 16 strippers he'd been partying with, or all of his awards and research data for his new mortgage system. In a selfless act of heroism, he chose to instead rescue the strippers. It was an act of bravery that he won a George Cross for, which he subsequently lost in another fire.

None of this made the papers, because on the day of both incidents, the printers ran out of ink, so they just fucked the news off for a day and didn't bother ever recording it.

So wax that off February's pre-tax figure, since this is a business vehicle, and you'll see that ironically, it works out at 10% of my income. A full 50% lower than your silly (and utterly unworkable) 20% rule for owning a car :olo:

Crushed by your own formula :olo:
I wonder, if you'd chose the Cayenne Hybrid, would you get UK government subsidiary for buying a "green" car?
Cause that's what the Dutch government is/was doing with hybrids.

I'm driving a quick and comfortable Volvo V60 Hybrid as business car and I'll be getting back a total of 2/3 of the purchase price (over 5 years) since it's so "economically"

Hi saturn, long time mate. Yep we've got something similar, but this is the UK, so it's typically tightfisted, and I'd get back £5000, but it would have to be ultra-low emission, and the Cayenne S Hybrid is about the same as a decent hatchback, so doesn't qualify.

The Hybrid is about 75k once you've bought some options, so you're in big money territory that would get you something better/as good at that price. There's a lot of rivals if you're spending 75k on a car that's not especially fast. What I like about the Cayenne Turbo is that there really isn't anything on the market that offers that level of silly speed/practicality.

Only poor people have 15 year mortgages... if you can't buy outright then I suggest buying a run-down old shack on worthless shared land in the middle of bumfuck nowhere like Geoff.

Nice seeing you again Sysop. Q3W is like an old pub where people hang out occasionally.

5000 quid is not really an incentive to go hybrid if you are able to spend the money on something more powerful. If you are in the market for something like a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GTS, I'd consider something like an Audi RS6 or BMW X5M or maybe a Range Rover Sport. I just can't get over the fact that the Cayenne's so goddamn ugly :olo: Sorry mate :owned:

I noticed that when I was visiting my sister in Amsterdam. Shame I have a wrong cable and to get the right one would cost me 450 euros for something I would hardly use on a trip. I do charge my Volvo every day and even installed a bunch of solar panels to help the environment (read: getting tax refunds).

I owned an Audi RS4 back in 2007, and it was a great car, but I don't want another Audi. I don't think ever. Test drove an R8, and it was just another Audi. The RR Sport is nice, but like the BMW, they are still just standard 4x4's. The Cayenne is just on another level once you step inside. Yeah, it's not a great looking car, but I think it looks nicer than the new Range Rover models, and it definitely looks nicer than previous Cayenne models.

I looked at a GTR, SL500, 911, R8, and for once reason or another, I kept coming back to the Cayenne. It's the fact that I can load all of my shoot equipment in the back, and then still lap Nürburgring in under 8 minutes. WITH the babyseat still on the backseat :)

Nice  Just on the roof like..? Noticed a few delivery trucks that do this, seems like a good idea if you have a hybrid / full on electric car.

Or am i being silly and do you mean you installed some on your roof at home?
