yea, thats smart.. CAI has a few issues, A) if you have any Aluminium based parts in the engine, you are risking cracking them in the colder days, B) WATER, WATER PEOPLE, most people dont relise that CAI will suck up water on a rainey day and could force its way into your intake and blow the engine ( water dosent compress say 9:1 or anything remotly close to that. )
if you woulda said short ram, i would agree with you... the safe bed is short ram with a heat sheild to the bay, and a clean shot of cool air.
