WTF does it mean exactly to do this? Is the soundcard not being fully utilized in this mode? I ran DXDiag and all the H/W and S/W buffer tests ran fine.
remember the old UT, how you could change it from DirectX to Software Rendering.. same deal with the audio..
Try it..
ARGH! Where the hell is this setting?

So, I've tried pretty much every combination of levels of acceleration and H/W and S/W settings. I'm able to play for a little while, was even able to finish a few maps. I'm still playing against bots, learning the maps.
Unfortunately, it still locks with the repeating sound, usually a pattern of crackling and a high-pitched squeal. I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the newest vid driver(again) with no change.
Guess I'm waiting for the patch at this point.
The game is absolutely awesome, though.

I can't understand why this would be necessary, unless it's some sort of IRQ conflict. I'm ont saying it wouldn't fix the problem, it's just completely gay that I'd have to do it.

according to the game notes, the only card that is compatible with hardware level setting is audigy2 zs.

Because the card is shit, and honestly, on board is on par with most mid range sound cards anymore anyways.. youll lose a whole 3fps using onbaord.. -_-

I was just playing the demo on the MEC side. We were kinda loosing, so me and two teammates jumped in a boat and went out to the USMC's ship.
We each got in one of their planes & helicopters and took off in them. :icon19:
