I thought the exact same thing. When someone is murdered with a gun, who says "One of my men gets shot..."?

Nobody says that. They say "One of my men gets killed..."

Lots of Oedipus stuff going on. Sons not knowing fathers, old men with eyes gouged out, main character named Antigone. I hope there is some cohesion to it as the season progresses.

I was going to bring up the impotence theme but I didn't want to trigger any of the other posters. I thought it really humanized all the characters.

Nothing humanizes a character like being unable to achieve or maintain an erection in my opinion.

When a man can't make his penis hard on television, that's what makes him real as far as i'm concerned.

I hope we get more impotence backstory tonight. Why are these men impotent? Is childhood trauma related, or maybe caused by alcoholism? Is it what led them to become cops or crooks?

All important details. To quote Sherlock Holmes (the original True Detective and likely impotent from cocaine abuse) "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

What do you mean? It's one of the major themes of the show this season.

I thought the show was above cheap cliffhangers. Guess I was wrong.

I stumbled through the second episode the other day, it may not be worth continuing the series by the sounds of it..

It's not terrible, in my opinion. I'll continue watching. We're only through episode 3. There's still plenty of time for it to pick up the pace. But yeah, it's no Season 1...

Looks like I was correct, even though I missed to some technicality based on the fact that I know Shit about guns .

No better than any other tv cop show shootout. Let's face it it wasn't anything as close to being good as that one cut scene in first season.

Fuck, I don't think I know or even care to know what this season is all about. So boring.

I'm digging it. It's got a bit of a dream world thing going on. A little similar to Twin Peaks, which I loved. The scene with Ray and his dad in the bar with the singing guy in particular.

It's a story not so much about "who did it?" as it is about the characters involved...

Kind of disappointed they've taken their foot off the gas on that whole impotence theme the last few episodes.

Pretty good episode. The show is definitely finishing stronger than it started. Looking forward to the finale...
