Are you kidding? German's pretty easy to learn. It has alot more similarities to English than any other language I know of. Honestly, languages like Spanish and French are harder to learn, not to mention languages from the middle east and asia.

sure, if you do speak a germanic language its easy, just as spansih or french is easyier when you speak a latin language

You'll find that it's a pretty cool way to learn a language, the program works only in the language you are learning it does not use your native language at all. You learn as you did when you were a child. And you pick things up quickly. It has 4 methods of learning including speech comparison to see how well your pronunciation is.

This is not really a viable solution but I have found in my experiances that the best and fastest way to learn a language is by practice and interaction with that language.

Everything that has to do with it, television , talking to people, constant usage of the language can only come from introducing your self in a location in which the language is spoken.

Sure you can invest alot of your time memorizing words,phrases and learning the rules/grammar but it will do little in comparison of complete absorption in it's natural state. That gives you greater chance of actually retaining your knowledge of that language.

before I found myself in the US I was taking english as a econd language for 3 years, and at the time I'd be ashamed to admit it, but after I moved in New Orleans 4 months tops I was in a possition to fully understand every conversation going on around me and at the very least communicate clearly with others at a level of a 1st grader if that makes sense to you.

Well my roommate and gf are going to learn too, so were all going to be speaking it as much as we can as we learn it, so "hopefully" itll help us all learn..



And im sure i can pick up some German movies and shit as well

The problem with that is you don't have a reference point... You could all get something wrong and be none the wiser.

Very true.. But im sure if were reading and watching stuff in german, we would pick up on mistakes with basic convo

that'll definately help, also treat it not as a fat man who died's but as a fat man who has a lifestyle change..heh meaning it's important to keep it up, unfortunately it's not like riding a bike.
