12 bucks for a bottle of water? That's outrageous.

Yeah but it's.... it's... special water...

Unlike those totally ordinary $5000 a pop bottles of wine though.

The most expensive price I can find for La Tache Romanee bottle of wine is 1700$ online. Yeah they bought 3 bottles but fuck me that's a bit excessive for a markup innit?

edit: Also Crystal Rose Magnum is about the same, roughly 1200 a bottle. I also discovered the guy who ordered all this is a billionaire.

That doesn't surprise me. What you pay for an ordinary glass of wine in an ordinary restaurant is massively more expensive than what you'd pay for it if you'd buy it in a store.

Buy a glass of wine in a restaurant and you pay for a single glass what you'd pay for a full bottle in a store.

Naturally. The fancier restaurants of this world (bless them) don't earn their money from the food, but from the wine. And you should absolutely have fine wine accompanying that delicious food, otherwise what's the fucking point? God i hate people who don't drink.

I wouldn't dump that kind of money into a place with generally such sub-par reviews.

My girlfriend got taken to a restaurant by a client once, and she took a photograph of the wine menu, which had a Château Lafite Rothschild 1989 for £20-something thousand a bottle. About a year later we were in LA, Pasadena, specifically, at this tiny little wine place, and it had a bottle of it in the window for $1000. I haggled them down to $850, and drank it in 2012. Point is, it cost me about £19,500 less than it would've in the restaurant.

Tasted nice.

Googled restaurants in Briarcliff - no notable fine dining that would sell that amount.

Likely Geoff saw it on a menu while he was in Las Vegas recently, in a restaurant he went to as a very special treat, and decided to import it into his bullshit datafile for use another time.

You claimed to have a receipt and a picture, but when pressed, it turned out what you had is a screenshot of a Google review. Like always, the truth falls far short of the lie.
