Re: iCar...
Just as terrible as Google's.
Re: iCar...
I wouldn't get in an Apple car if you paid me. Their quality control is fucking awful.
Re: iCar...
If I had a fortune or was at the reigns of a company that did I'd probably venture into the auto industry as well. It's tempting because a lot of what's being produced is so badly designed yet seems to sell.
That said, I don't think apple will be building cars. Probably more like apps for cars.

Yeah you're right about the design. Interface wise, BMW and Mercedes are tolerable, but they're light years behind the functionality or content found in a basic smart phone.
Cars are about tiny incremental updates though to drive maximum profit. I doubt we'll ever see a design revolution.
The apple car probably won't even come with a steering wheel until apple car 3. 3S will have doors.

Re: iCar...
What's always annoyed me with car technology is that we've had excellent satnavs like TomTom, Garmin etc for years, yet every single in-built satnav I've seen in a car are deadful 2D implementations which are zoomed out with no level of real detail. The satnav on my phone has 3D buildings let alone a 3D road view. How hard can it be to partner up and supply a decent system instead.
