great doc, even more experimental than his usual efforts, about how we went from supporting the Saudis in return for oil, to ISIS and the recent clusterfuck in Afghanistan - a consequence of short-sightedness and fantasy politics. well worth 2 hours of your life
(the scene where someone attempts to explain conceptual art to a group of Afghan women via the example of Duchamps' Urinal is especially surreal, and kind of sums up the absurdity of the whole Western effort in Afghanistan)
Adam Curtis - Bitter Lake
Re: Adam Curtis - Bitter Lake
The full version without the last 20 cut off can be found here. I was skeptical at first, but if you can get past the first 15 minutes or so, it's a decent film.

Looks to be available on torrents. As someone whose TV license fee helped pay for its production feel free to download it on me
.

Thank you Transient. It is a quiet day today, might just watch it through.

Re: Adam Curtis - Bitter Lake
it's pretty trippy. Curtis's usual MO is to talk over a continuous montage of often unrelated footage; in this the voiceovers are like little islands of narrative separated by long sections of pure montage with a spooky music accompaniment
