I need some RAID help

Post by YourGrandpa »

I have a drive that is failing and it's part of a raid stripe. Both drives are currently working and I bought (2) new drive to build another stripe. I need a suggestion on what software to use to transfer all of my info off of the failing raid and onto my new raid.

Note: My O/S is on my current raid array.

Please help.

Thanks

I question people that own a RAID array and don't know what they're doing...

What do you mean? I know what I'm doing. I've never faced the problem of having one of the RAID/Stripe drives dying. I just don't know if there's software made that can do what I'm asking.

There's alot of problems that can occur when you swap the striped arrays.

Ghost isn't a garanteed fix. It only works on some hardware arrays that have DOS level drivers.

A. I put RAID in the rigs for the office, altho I used RAID Mirror for data redundancy

B. You might be able to use Norton Ghost 9.0, it can backup within Windows

p.s. - raid 0,1 are a joke. real men do at least raid5.
Indeed.
