It is 100% his fault and not the fault of any law (chunk). this is a candidate for the darwin awards.

Just to play devil's advocate here for a second but might it be reasonable that the legality of the situation is partly to blame? It isn't legal for a 9 year old to drive a car. Should it be legal for a 9 year old to fire automatic weapons?

do you think that a 9yo should never be allowed to drive a vehicle on a closed course/area with an instructor or some kind of guidance?

what i'm getting at is say you have a two seater go kart on a small track with a 9yo driving and the instructor in the passenger seat, guiding her movements and teaching her to drive. then he says 'now lets turn of the governer', flicks a switch on the engine, and now instead of a max speed of 10mph they can go 70mph so the parents on the sideline can get a video of their daughter going fast. she hits the gas not knowing what will happen, they hit the wall and flip and the instructor is dead, girl is fine. should there be a law against 9yo's in go karts? or has the problem worked itself out?

of course 9yo's can't drive a car on the fucking roadways. and they can't fire full auto weapons in the mall either.

This is more like a driving instructor saying 'here's the keys, go have some fun' in a high powered car without any training whilst watching what happens.

It won't end well and would probaly have someone facing charges. Even if only neglectful behaviour. This is also a gun, not a car, accidents as you can tell happen much quicker as that dude found out, it'll take some time for the car to get up to killing speed and you'd have some warning. If for example the instructor stood behind her, the recoil flipped up and blew her head off instead, it'll be seen as an accident.

So it should be illegal imo, on private land or not, that accident could have been much worse.

Just to add as short story or two.

I was on a military firing range as Support Staff one day and we had some cadets there for a weapons introduction sort of day. They got to fire pistol, sub machine gun, machine gun, rifle and some even threw hand grenades. The regular Army support was welcome and just like the movies, those drill Sargents are as mean as they come.

Anyway, there was this short young girl, couldn't have been more that 16 and she walked up the the fire point as all the others did. Anxious as you'd imagine. With the regular Army staff beside them and in a line of 20, all engaged their targets at about 25 metres. All were firing the Australian F1 SMG.

For an instant during the live firing this girl turned around and said my gun .... That's all she got out before the Army guy knocked he flat to the ground, unconscious I recon. Silly kid could have killed quite a number of us. To this day, I still wonder if he was trying to knock the weapon from her hand or just deck her.

Another short story on weapons safety. I went on a shooting weekend with some mates out in the scrub. Pretty thick as I remember.

My mate said "I will follow you". My reply was (and always will be) "I will go last as no one with a gun EVER gets behind me" :!:

The F1 is714 mm in length and that Uzui was probably only 445 mm

Memphis wrote:vehicles tend not to be designed and constructed specifically to kill people in the easiest and quickest way possible, at the touch of a button. those that do hardly have the potency for instantaneous accidental death. would you let a 9 year old handle poison? a flamethrower? grenades? course you wouldn't. only the dumbest of cunts would even let their pre-teen kid light fireworks.
Ironically fireworks are banned in half of America and have tougher laws than guns do :smirk:

The video is an example to why. Can go to any county and let off a firework or wave a sparkler though

in most other developed countries this:

alone is wtfworthy, but here even the 9yo girl variable doesn't shift the conversation into the absurd. Apparently americans can still have a straight face conversation about it :disgust:

Kinder eggs are a choking hazard - rather like your blood when you've just been shot in the throat by a 9 year old girl with an Uzi :/
