Arizona shooting: Girl, nine, kills gun instructor

A nine year-old girl in the US has killed her shooting instructor by accident while being shown how to use a high-powered submachine gun.

The instructor was giving the girl a lesson at a shooting range in Arizona when the recoil from the automatic fire caused her to lose control of the Uzi.

Charles Vacca, 39, was shot in the head and died after being airlifted to a hospital in Las Vegas.

The girl was at the shooting range with her parents, who filmed the lesson.

Nope, not illegal. Although, you can't just walk into a store and buy one. Gotta get fingerprinted and go through an extensive background check by the state bureau of investigation. Its a long process, takes a few months...

Care to illuminate us non gun nuts about how he screwed up exactly? I'm kinda curious. Did he stand on the wrong side or something? Or do you simply mean a 9 year old should never be firing a fully automatic submachine gun and the dude should have known better?

The freakin guy... he's loosely bracing her in semi auto mode, and then probably trying to show off for the parents so they can get a neat little video says "OK NOW FULL AUTO", switches the selector, kid pulls the trigger on a submachine gun with a high rate of fire and BBRRAAAPPPPP..... the recoil overtakes her which pulled up and to the left, giving him a bullet in the head.

It is 100% his fault and not the fault of any law (chunk). this is a candidate for the darwin awards.
