Aye, not the 1st time something like this has happened either

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_Air ... Flight_007 <-- Shot down by Russia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air_Flight_655

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Baghd ... n_incident <-- hardcore pilots, think it's the 1st and only time anyone has ever landed a plane successfully after losing hydraulics. Wether it was real life or a simulator.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberia_Ai ... light_1812 <-- shot down by the Ukrainian military

Apparently it's a common route, normally planes fly too high to be hit by weapons that rebels get their hands on and anyone who has the weaponry that can hit moving targets at 35k usually has a bit of common sense to check if it's a commercial plane or not, so it's seen as safe.

The thing is this was shot down by something believed to be a BUK -

[lvlshot]http://www.ausairpower.net/PVO-SV/9A317 ... osi-1S.jpg[/lvlshot]

Wether it was supplied to the Rebels by the Russians or wether it was captured by the rebels from the Ukraine is unknown but It looks like the Russians have been helping the separatists (http://news.usni.org/2014/06/30/u-s-eur ... eparatists). There's apparently a transcript that was intercepted by the Ukrainian secret service n all. Make of it what you will though, there's a propaganda war going on between both sides -

http://www.kyivpost.com/content/ukraine ... 56545.html
Igor Bezler: We have just shot down a plane. Group Minera. It fell down beyond Yenakievo (Donetsk Oblast).

Vasili Geranin: Pilots. Where are the pilots?

IB: Gone to search for and photograph the plane. Its smoking.

VG: How many minutes ago?

IB: About 30 minutes ago.

SBU comment: After examining the site of the plane the terrorists come to the conclusion that they have shot down a civilian plane. The next part of the conversation took place about 40 minutes later.

“Major”: These are Chernukhin folks who shot down the plane. From the Chernukhin check point. Those cossacks who are based in Chernukhino.

“Grek”: Yes, Major.

"Major": The plane fell apart in the air. In the area of Petropavlovskaya mine. The first “200” (code word for dead person). We have found the first “200”. A Civilian.

“Greek”: Well, what do you have there?

“Major”: In short, it was 100 percent a passenger (civilian) aircraft.

“Greek”: Are many people there?

“Major”: Holy sh__t! The debris fell right into the yards (of homes).

“Greek”: What kind of aircraft?

“Major”: I haven’t ascertained this. I haven’t been to the main sight. I am only surveying the scene where the first bodies fell. There are the remains of internal brackets, seats and bodies.

“Greek”: Is there anything left of the weapon?

“Major”: Absolutely nothing. Civilian items, medicinal stuff, towels, toilet paper.

“Greek”: Are there documents?

“Major”: Yes, of one Indonesian student. From a university in Thompson.

Militant: Regarding the plane shot down in the area of Snizhne-Torez. It’s a civilian one. Fell down near Grabove. There are lots of corpses of women and children. The Cossacks are out there looking at all this.

They say on TV it’s AN-26 transport plane, but they say it’s written Malaysia Airlines on the plane. What was it doing on Ukraine’s territory?

Nikolay Kozitsin: That means they were carrying spies. They shouldn’t be f…cking flying. There is a war going on.
Russian news outlets have gone into full on denial mode, saying that the Ukrainians shot it down thinking Putin was on board, that it was a spy plane dressed up as a commercial airliner etc. BBC were also reporting that a tweet was made on one of the rebels main twitter accounts saying that they had downed another transport plane n all that was later removed.

Less than 24 hours later and the yank tards are already frothing at the mouth and screaming "SEE? SEE? WE NEED MORE SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA GRHUHGURHG"

The US are good at shooting down passenger jets, case in point Iran Air in 1988.

I had to read the Wiki :smirk:
Trans World Airlines Flight 800 (TWA 800), a Boeing 747-100, exploded and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near East Moriches, New York, on July 17, 1996, at about 8:31 p.m. EDT, 12 minutes after takeoff from John F. Kennedy International Airport on a scheduled international passenger flight to Rome, with a stopover in Paris.[1] All 230 people on board were killed in the third-deadliest aviation accident in U.S. territory. ....

.............

The report's conclusion was that the probable cause of the accident was an explosion of flammable fuel/air vapors in a fuel tank, and, although it could not be determined with certainty, the most likely cause of the explosion was a short circuit. As a result of the investigation, new requirements were developed for aircraft to prevent future fuel tank explosions.

TWA Flight 800 conspiracy theories exist, the most prevalent being that a missile strike from a terrorist or U.S. Navy vessel caused the crash, and is the subject of a government coverup.

Sorry, Netflix is not available in your country yet.

Oh no guys, wasn't Ryoki on that plane?! Shit, let's get all worried and try to find out! No need you fucking cretins, though it was almost exactly my flight and i missed it by exactly a week. Exactly a week, mind - we flew at the same time as well. The journey home was on MH16, which caused a few chickenheaded people on board some stress. Not me though, i kept my cool by quite succesfully doing my best to remain unconcious for 13 hours straight. God i hate flying.

PS Bali is cool, but damn touristy. Everything is taken care of, makes for a good relax vacation but don't expect any adventures. Was fun, but wouldn't go again.

PPS Lots of Aussies there - after having talked to quite a few i am now convinced that Australians are the most blatantly fucking racist, homophobic, loudest, most obnoxious cunts i've ever come across. Jesus, what an ugly people. Or do the good ones not go to Bali? Perhaps. All i know is there's lots of ugly Aussies on Bali.
