Mazda's are the worst.

Post by Κracus »

Recently been promoted and I do a lot of traveling now which requires me to rent cars all the time. A few weeks ago I got to drive a Mazda 3 and it's without a doubt the 3rd worst car I've ever driven sitting nicely behind the Ford Tempo as #1 and the Kia Spectra (old model) as #2.

Granted it was a rental so there's no telling what kind of abuse it was put through but with only 40k on the odo it shouldn't have been that bad. Wheel shake was pretty bad at anything over 120km's/h, seats were uncomfortable as hell, no cruise control but the worst was the noise it made on the highway. I'm not talking about abnormal noises either, just engine/road noise was pretty loud, needed to crank the music to make it bearable and the tin can's for speakers didn't help.

Aside from the Mazda I drove a Kia, Sonata and a Malibu thus far and they've all been good cars. Best on gas was the Kia followed closely by the Sonata, then the POS mazda and the Malibu was most expensive.

All the other rentals had all the options, the best being the Hyundai which was quite nice honestly and probably my favorite thus far, close tie with the malibu though except the malibu had bad gas mileage.

You're complaining about wheel shake and road noise for a rental? :offended:

lol, it's obvious Krakass has never done any real traveling before. Everyone knows rentals suck, no matter the make/model. Unless you opt for a truly expensive, nice car, which apparently Krakass and his company can't afford.

Also, I love how the first thing he mentions is a promotion. As if that's relative to his Mazda hatred. Shameful promotional plug, not even worth mentioning...

I expect a certain amount of abuse from rentals but no, they don't all suck. I also don't work for a company, I work for the government and when renting a car, yes I do opt for the less expensive vehicles because you know, it's taxpayers that pay for that shit and renting BMW's is obviously not being a very nice public servant.

On the subject of cars, bought myself a new unimaginary 2014 VW Polo Highline TSI.
Bit smaller than the Octavia but so much more options.
Should be ready a week from now.

Sweet, I do like a VW. Had my Passat tuned, it's now 230bhp and goes very well.
Also just ordered a nissan qashqai tekna but it's not coming until October which is crap.

Be careful those wheels don't shake. You don't want to be stuck with a lemon.

Got to love the word "mention" (there's that word again) of rental abuse cars and you're doing over 120kph

Do you have speed limits where you are Κracus?

If Kracus had his own car he wouldn't have to rent.

We changed millenia recently in case you haven't noticed. 120kph is nothing to be worried about.

Yeah 110km is the norm here on the highway, since the mazda 3 is shit and didn't have cruise control I noticed the wheel shake when I happened to get near 120. It would be unusual for a cop to pull over someone doing 120 as many people, myself included drift over the 110 limit when going downhill or accidentally on long drives.

You obviously don't know how this works.

Once you exceed a certain number of miles renting a car is actually cheaper than paying mileage on someones personal vehicle.
