Picked it up and played for a bit over the weekend - quite liked it for a while but when my main characters got overwhelmed by a horde of zombies i ragequit :/ Might have to read up on how to play this game properly or something.Memphis wrote:State of Decay is up. Great game indeed.
And I ordinarily get bored of open-worlders within a couple hours.
I'm the same with open world games, tend to get bored with them very quickly - but it strangely hasn't happened with this one yet.

I played it on Xbox 360. Thought it was a great game and thought it looked very nice as well to be honest, but it's been a few years, so standards have changed I guess. I liked the combat as well. You can finish off the enemies in pretty brutal looking ways, and it's all okay since it's just robots anywayMemphis wrote:I recommend Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.
Re: It is time. (steam summer sale 2014)
heheh, I've not played Darksiders so I can't compare.
With Enslaved I really think it's about the mindset you play the game with. If you bought this at full price at launch with high expectations then I guess the game disappoints. I think the reviews weren't especially favorable either.
But I got the game for cheap just like you (under a tenner for me) and it really was a "let's see what this is all about" purchase so with that mindset, the game really was a surprisingly enjoyable romp.
I've been thinking about getting Remember Me a couple of times but never made the purchase. Will keep an eye out for it.
Gotta finish Dishonored first (man, what a great game that is. A must play IMO).

Darksiders is rad. Its God OF War basically. Its not quite as amazing as far as production but its a rad game.

HeheMemphis wrote:I started to really enjoy it once I had a couple characters levelled up. More capable of killing Zs, but then you fear more for their lives when things go south and you're stuck car-less in the middle of nowhere with a levelled-up Marcus, a few bullets and a broken bat
That said, the base game's generally a piece of piss once you nail down how to deal with hordes, specials and have patience to sweep an area before rummaging for goodies. One thing worth noting is that once you've checked every room of a building, it's then a 'safe-zone' where no zombies can spawn (though Zs and patrolling hordes outside the area can still wander in), unless you make excessive noise searching or leave a car nearby. The buggers that *always* come sniffing up to any parked car can sometimes be a royal pain in the arse when you want a quick in and out in a dangerous area without getting your car's doors torn off
Game could fucking do with a difficulty slider mind - i simply don't have enough time to play and become proficient at games like this unfortunatly... i'd really like a lazy noob experience, but no. Did manage to level up Marcus a bit so he can now comfortably take on zeds, but it still feels quite hard. Oh and i'm also not a fan of the whole autosave thing, gah. Hate spending 10 extra minutes to finish up something or another because you'll lose your progress if you quit

Give it a shot with a 360 controller. I enjoyed it as much as I played. Which honestly was only a few hours. But I have horrible gaming ADD anymore.Eraser wrote:I actually have it in my Steam library. Untouched. Like a virgin.SOAPboy wrote:Darksiders is rad. Its God OF War basically. Would you prefer "these days" or something?
How about you go fuck yourself, or better yet, get your tranny boyfriend to do it.
Re: It is time. (steam summer sale 2014)
I would prefer that yes, as those two words make it a gramatically correct sentence.
Anymoron.

It sounds perfectly normal to me anymore.

so I just got this.phantasmagoria wrote:The Stanley Parable is great.
holy shit this game is amazing, it's indescribable. my mind has forever been blown (phrasing).
I completed 3 runs or so and I can't decide what is the beginning and what is the end, it's all so confusing yet so logical.
If you're into narration, mystery, comedy, clever writing and/or anything meta this game is the Holy Grail.
