Game of Thrones season 4
Re: Game of Thrones season 4
Look, we would all appreciate it very much if from now on you'd do your extra special best to refrain from book comparisons in ways less cryptic than Mat. Maybe you don't think something is a spoiler but i gotta say, some of the things you said in this thread sure sound like spoilers. So yeah, please stop that, it's immensely annoying.

Wether there's been a spoiler or not. Why risk it? Why test it? Just don't mention the books. How hard is that?

It's pretty simple. Stop talking about the books.Transient wrote:In a show like this, I have learned to expect the unexpected. It was totally plausible that he could somehow survive that fight,

Re: Game of Thrones season 4
I don't see what the big deal is, talking about events that took place in the book after the same event has aired on the show is still talking about what has already happened and I don't see how that is a spoiler. I enjoy the show as anyone else and have not read the books, but even if someone slips out a minor spoiler let alone make comparisons with the book in events that have already transpired, I'm not going to flip tables and shit on the floor. Fuck your first world problems and get a fucking grip. Some of you are worse than bored housewives (and Geoff) getting your panties soiled over Days of Our Lives.

Ok, that's fine. It's obvious it bothers some people, and others it doesn't. For the sake of the people it bothers, how about you keep the book references in the book thread? I can even give y'all a direct link if ya can't find it...

The problem isn't comparing the book to the TV series, the problem is people reading waaaay too much into it and assuming every mention of the book is a spoiler of some kind.

Ah come on Eraser, you said that the Hound's been dead for ages in the books, where the TV show left his fate open.
That's spoiling the future story.
People watching the show were unsure whether the hound lived or died; there was opportunity for discussion about him. In all likelihood, he died, but there's the possibility he was going to survive. You effectively put paid to all speculation by using your knowledge of the books to say "He dead".

Re: Game of Thrones season 4
He was left for dead in the books as well, with no hard first hand confirmation that he died either, so book readers pretty much know just as much as TV show watchers. That Arya and the Hound split up earlier in the books than in the TV show doesn't say much, especially not considering the mixed up chronology of the books.Mat Linnett wrote:Ah come on Eraser, you said that the Hound's been dead for ages in the books, where the TV show left his fate open.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the term "died", because that was speculation on my end, but I was quick to correct that. Yet somehow people ignore that and want to believe all of GoT has been spoiled in one fell swoop.
And here you are, spreading confusion even further. Good job.

How about you just don't mention the books any more in this thread?

That would be a Q3W first. I prefer arguing about something I know I'm right about.

Re: Game of Thrones season 4
I wanna know where the books divert from the series dammit, I wanna know if it's better or worse but noooo, people are like ohmagerd you said something that never happened or never will happen in a TV show that's already shown what's happened.

If they wanna read the books then why havn't they ?, from the sounds it's gonna be a good few years before the show gets anywhere near catching up. Seems kinda odd that they'd avoid the book to keep with the show instead of vice versa.
Sposed to be a discussion, everywhere else is actually full of spoilers as opposed to this place who reveal the book spoiler after the show spoiler , or if they've watched the show it's hardly gonna be a spoiler ?. I'd imagine +90% of the book is the same to the show, in terms of the main storyline, the finer details I'm guessing are somewhat twisted.
Also fuck books, ain't got time for that shit. Let me know when they can beam them into my skull.
