There's even more than that. Stannis, Jorah, Hodor, Tywin, Samwell, Gendry, Pypar, Oberyn, etc...
I think it's more common than you think, but like you said, it's something you just have to get used to. Jamie's pretty hair was such a staple for him, cutting it off symbolizes this change he's going through (along with his hand)...
bitWISE wrote:Anyone catch the Ser Duncan the Tall reference? If you don't know who I'm talking about, there is a great series of novellas, set 100 years prior to Game of Thrones, that follow Dunk and Egg.
Can't say that I recall anything about Oberyn Martell liking boys though...
That's awesome to hear about the novellas. I've been wanting to read SoIF, but I just don't like reading books after watching the movie or tv series. The characters and faces are already developed in my mind, so my imagination has been altered. But if this Dunk and Egg takes place 100 before, I'll try it.
Also, the way Oberyn Martell grabbed the boy doesn't convince me about his sexuality...
Yea there are five so far (three that follow Dunk and two others). The only character that "shows up" in Dunk & Egg are references to Maester Aemon as a child. Which, for me, made the stories even cooler because holy fuck he really is that old.
His age is mentioned at some point in one of the books as being 102 years old, but I'm not sure exactly how much time there is between that point and where the TV series currently is. It's also mentioned he's the oldest living man in all of Westeros.
Yes, he's currently played by a Dutchman, Michiel Huisman. Don't know the previous actor's name, but yeah it was someone else. I must say I like his previous appearance better. In the books he's described as a far more extravagantly dressed man, with a blue, three pronged beard. I think Michiel Huisman's appearance is a bit too commonly looking. The previous actor had a bit more of an exotic appearance with his long hair and somewhat typical looking face.
Ended up going to to the HBO season premiere thing, the missus won some sort of facebook contest - for the second year in a row strangely enough. So hah, i got to see it before all you bastards! And i got a shitty GoT coffee mug to prove it
Looking forward to more of Arya and mr dog going around the countryside on a homicidal roadtrip, that'll be fun for a bit. Am i remembering correctly that they're going to ---------? He's -------- to ------- that ---------- right?
...but that wasn't a spoiler- i haven't read the books, it was all mentioned in the show... wasn't it? Haven't rewatched season 3, but i seem to recall it.

Y'all do remember Lil'finger fucked off on a boat last season, to indeed get wedded to crazy Vale lady. Sansa was gonna jump ship too, but then didn't, 'cos she thought she was gonna marry Loras. The Hound and Arya also on their way to crazy Vale, there's every chance they may cross paths.

Keep up lads.
I am plenty up! But you never know who might get their throat slashed in the way to the Vale...
What xer0s said. Ryoki's choice of words made it more than speculation. Unfortunately I cannot go into more detail about it because that would cause even more spoilers.

Funny thing is, i was speculating based only on the show as i haven't read the books, and i wasn't entirely sure anyway - hence the question mark. Someone who read the books declaring what i wrote is a spoiler is in fact... a spoiler.
