Re: Does anyone here vape?
I quit smoking back in October, I just went cold turkey and haven't had a smoke since and I was smoking a pack a day. Those fucking e-cigs suck dude. They cost a lot of money and work like shit, especially if you buy online. I've had a lot of people that use them complain that the liquid sometimes seeps through the part you suck on and tastes like shit.
I've tried a cheap e-cig before though just to see what it's like and it's basically just flavored water vapor.
I haven't met anyone that bought those that successfully quit.
Ultimately I suggest just quitting cold turkey. If you don't succeed the first time keep trying. The secret to quitting is simply to keep trying.
Now quitting nrg drinks... fuck that's hard.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
Ah, I haven't vaped cannabis for years. I'm sure I still had a little bit here but can't find it.
Kracus, the e-cig-alikes are shit, yes. I've got a Nicolite one that looks just like a filtered cig, and it's not very good. I was tooting on mine couple of days ago and still craving real tobacco. These vaper machines however are a whole different level. So much more satisfying and you can choose your nicotine strength. Congrats though on the successful cold turkey.
Anyway, yeah, I'm getting myself off tobacco, haven't smoked it for a couple of days so far.
Bought myself one of these vaper things and it's bloody good! Nicotine without all the tar and other carcinogenic shit in tobacco.
It's a novelty at the moment so it's kind of fun but I think it should keep me off cancer sticks for good. £41 for the starter kit and 5 flavoured juices. I might try the cheesecake one later.

It takes a few weeks before those cravings will start to subside. Just keep in mind that the craving is temporary and will go away. I just rolled a J anytime the cravings got too strong and now I rarely have cravings anymore. I've yet to sit down for a game of poker though, I suspect I'll have a pretty bad craving when that happens. At least I can have a few beers now without getting a craving and that's nice.

Dude those are the nasty. Once upon a time I would never have bought one, I scoffed at the idea of paying 4$ for a can of soda. Then I had kids and one of those kids in particular refused to sleep for more than 4 hours at a time so I wound up having to wake up to take care of him at least twice a night for over 2 years straight, so for two years I never got to sleep for more than 4 hours straight. I was a wreck so I started drinking them because believe it or not they actually work!
However now I've noticed that I'm easily winded and I'm gaining weight like GKY at an all you can eat burger joint and I want to stop and get back in shape. I've tried quitting them a few times and every time I wind up going back to them. It's quite hard honestly, harder than I thought it would be.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
One or two small cans a day should be OK, shouldn't it?
Re: Does anyone here vape?
Not in my opinion. When you reach 1 a day you've got a problem which is where I'm at.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
I quit for almost a year and the cravings never got any easier. I think I was talking to some guy that said he still gets cravings after something like 15 years. I'm pretty sure that's the point where I thought 'fuck this' and stuffed another pack in my mouth
I've quit a few times tho, goods news is after I managed to go nearly a year I went from 20+ a day to -10. So not a complete failure
It's true though what they say though, if you're gonna quit you have to want to. In truth I still enjoy smoking
. I think that's why the majority of reformed smokers are highly opposed to smoking imo n all, because they genuinely hate it now.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
I have never smoked so I have no experience in the matter.... but couldn't you just trim a half-inch off the ends of all your cigarettes every week and reduce the amount of nicotine you are dependent on until all you are smoking is the filter?

Re: Does anyone here vape?
Makes me feel nautious if I try to have one nowadays. I tried once in late october after quitting and regretted my decision almost instantly.
I've been a heavy smoker since the roughly 2003 I think and I quit in 2007 for awhile then started up again in 2010 and then stopped again this year. I do still have cravings once in awhile but they aren't that bad and go away quickly. Within a minute.
I do like smoking though, minus the coughing fits and shortness of breath.

Then you buy more packs :P, it doesn't really help the cravings. Kracus is spot, in if you're gonna do it it has to be cold turkey imo. I don't know anyone who successfully quit after cutting down but know plenty that just woke up one day and stuffed their fags under the tap.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
That might work for some people, others will just have two smokes instead of one as they won't feel satisfied with half a smoke so smoking half actually gives you more of a craving than if you'd smoked the entire cig.obsidian wrote:I have never smoked so I have no experience in the matter.... but couldn't you just trim a half-inch off the ends of all your cigarettes every week and reduce the amount of nicotine you are dependent on until all you are smoking is the filter?
Re: Does anyone here vape?
I don't think it applies to everyone, I know people who quit and still smoke occasionally with a beer or someshit. They're the ones that still enjoy smoking n allΚracus wrote:Makes me feel nautious if I try to have one nowadays. Re: Does anyone here vape?
lol weak willed morons...
My brother has some $300 e-cig and it hasn't helped him quit. He has some stupid cherry favor in it and now he feels like he can blow shit smelling vapor in everyone's vehicles and houses because it's not smoke. Cigs going to $7.50 a pack has helped him more than anything.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
I've been an on off smoker from 17 to 26, then a pack o day smoker for 3 years. I was coughing in my sleep, loss of breath etc. Back in July I decided to quit but not cold turkey, I used that Nicorette spay stuff. It worked really well to get me off the habit of smoking then I quit nicotine altogether 2 months after. I've been smoke free for 6 months and feeling great

Yeah I've been down that road. That's how I started smoking again in 2010. I would buy a pack and have a few while playing poker with my friends, drink a few beer etc... then at the end of the night I'd give my pack to one of my friends. It wasn't long until I started smoking on a regular basis again... Lesson learned.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
My switch to e-juice isn't to quit smoking, but to get off real tobacco and all the cancerous shit it contains.
If over time this helps me to quit nicotine altogether then great. I've also heard the same stories that losCHUNK mentioned where people have quit for years and never lost their cravings, which makes it mentally harder to cold turkey. But for now, I'm just happy to be off the dangerous stuff and still able to get my nic fix.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
August 22 was the day i smoked my last cigarette. Started out with the Blu, which is complete garbage. Moved on to the Halo Triton system which is basically like your evod. That's when I knew I was done with cigarettes. The key is finding a juice that you really like, which can take some trial and error. Your taste buds are going to go ape shit for a while. Some days all of your juices will taste terrible. The following day everything will taste great again. This is because they are actually healing and getting used to being off cigarettes. Just stick with it and I promise vapeing can be much more satisfying than cigarettes. It's really a lifestyle change and can become quite a hobby.
As for saving money, that all depends on how deep you get into it. But once you have your base setup, it can be much cheaper than cigarettes.
I'll probably be picking up the innokin mvp version 2 and a nice kanger protank 2 to go along with it pretty soon. I also plan on getting into the mechanical mods and rebuildable atomizers because I like the tinkering aspect vapeing.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
frankly, given the insignificant (or possibly non-existent) health risk from vaping, there's nothing wrong with doing that if you like the nicotine hit but without the carcinogens. vaping as a way of stopping smoking - i.e. as a stepping-stone to quitting nicotine entirely - seems pointless. do it for the enjoyment or don't do it at all
