New site / testing

Post by brisk »

I've had my puzl.net domain for ages now, and for the past few years i've just had some crappy "coming soon" image of sorts. Anyway, I had some free time yesterday, so i've put up a small website with the basic essentials.

http://www.puzl.net

I'd be interested in your opinions on design related stuff, BUT what I really want to know is if it works ok in all the browsers. I've tested it in IE and Firefox for the PC, but I still need to make sure it works ok in Opera, and IE/Safari for the Mac.

It's quite nice, although I am not a big fan of websites when they bring up another screen like that. I much prefer to just go forward and back on fullscreen.

I am old though.

works no problem at all with Maxthon. I like it too. I especially like the red and purple davinci esque man.

No problems in Mozilla 1.7.3

I liked the design of the content but I did not like how there opens a small extra window for every link you click. This somehow detracts from the content. Maybe you could integrate this in the main window.

Just my 2 cent...

You mean the popups on the portfolio/work page? Yeah, I was discussing that with somebody a few days ago... the problem is, if I was to make a small frame to the right, it doesn't really allow you to see all the detail in the designs. The popups themselves are easily closed by just clicking anywhere on the page though (and it only occurs on the portfolio page).

But yeh, its something to consider for the future.

Maybe you could show on click a (shrinked) version of the content in an integrated frame to the right which then can be clicked for a popup with the full resolution image. So the design would be more fluent while browsing the page without keeping back the option to see full details of your artwork on demand.

It's cool and looks well done, but it seems like alot to absorb when you first open it up. The first thing I thought when the main site popped up was "uhhh, shit is this a maze?" Then I realized that there just wasn't much content. It's still sort of irritating though, because it seems sort of cluttered with things that aren't important to the layout that you're left wondering if there's something special you're supposed to click on or if you've missed anything. That's just my opinion though.

Nice work. Don't care for the pop-ups though.

Looks nice, but I hate popups. At one point you have a popup on top of the popup.
